What is the Taoist definition of 'love', and what is considered the difference with 'kindness'?

When Lao Tzu says "virtue," he means compassion. He has said "requite hatred with virtue." This is higher than Jesus' saying "love thy enemy." First of all everyone loves their enemy, either consciously, subconsciously or unconsciously (subconscious is half conscious half unconscious). So Jesus is only bringing that love out, and love is not revolutionary. It is lower than compassion.
I don't think the sense of virtue at Lao-tzu is compassion. You should quote the place in the Tao-te ching where you found the contrary.
